Facebook Trick #1 – Pirate English

With two simple clicks you can Translate Facebook into Pirate English for a good laugh.

To make the change while logged into Facebook simply go to the footer in the bottom left hand corner of the screen, click on English, and scroll to select “English (Pirate) – BETA”:

After making this change your Facebook Profile will look something like this:

Instead of “Logout” the Pirate translation is “Abandon Ship.”  Instead of “Share” the translation says “Divvy spoils t’ all ye mateys.”  Yeaarr-harr-harr!

Facebook Trick #2 – The Konami Code

By entering these keys:

Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Enter.

You will activate the famous Konami code, which unlocks secret areas of many well known websites.

Entering the Konami code in Facebook causes the Website to Enter Lens Flare Mode:

Try typing or pressing Enter for special effects. This is a cool trick, but gets annoying soon. Just re-enter the code to deactivate the effect.

Step #1: Click “Privacy” in the footer of any page while logged into Facebook

Step #2: Once you are on the Facebook Privacy Overview Page click on the “News Feed and Wall”

Step #3: Once on the News Feed and Wall Privacy Page you are able to select and unselect the boxes representing the items that you want to post to your mini-feed.  Note that the only items shown here are the items that Facebook itself publishes to your wall.

Third party applications that you have granted permission to may also publish to your feed and to control this you will need to adjust the settings for that application.  You may need to uninstall an application in order to stop it from posting to your mini-feed and sending you notifications.
